12 of 12 for February 2008
Wednesday, February 13th, 2008Here’s my twelve of twelve for February.
Arriving at school. We’ve had an incredible amount of snow this winter—something like six snow days thus far.

Half of my day this year is spent on data and school improvement initiatives, so I have a cubicle along with my classroom. If you click through to Flickr on this shot, there are mouse-over notes.

The hallway during class. That’s my independent study student Amanda with the pink hair.

After school, I set out on the hour’s drive to Manchester, where I was about attend my second-ever geocaching event—and hopefully grab a few quick winter-friendly caches beforehand.

The first cache I went for was one of Hockeypuck’s puzzles… he’s done all of mine, so I hope to do all of his someday. It took me on a beautiful trail in what I had thought to be a much more suburban area…. I didn’t find the cache due to the time, snow, and oncoming darkness, but I enjoyed the walk.

I’ve gotten to know Glonch’sPride through PodCacher, so when he announced his first event, I knew I had to attend. He did a presentation on Pocket Queries, GSAK, and Delorme Street Atlas that was very well received.
The greatest part of it for me was meeting so many of the cachers whose names I know.

So, I found four caches before the event and stopped for this one just afterward. I couldn’t get a good Eiffel night shot without a tripod… but this one, taken without a flash, came to eerie life after using Picasa’s "Fill light" slider.

I drove home in the first hour of what turned out to be a blizzard that left a foot of snow overnight. Here I’m passing through Meredith, fifteen minutes from home. My WWFM event will be held over to the right of the tree on the right.

The bottom of our driveway. We nickname it the luge.

Squamdog hung out with me as I uploaded the photos of the day.

I guess Obama did really well in today’s primaries. Quite the race. It’s always interesting to see how things evolve after our primary. I voted for Hillary, but I like Obama too, and I really don’t mind McCain. So it’s all good.
