12 of 12 for March 2008
Thursday, March 13th, 2008Here’s my Twelve of Twelve (twelve representative photos of the twelfth of the month) for March.
Putting on my tie this morning, I realized that there was a lot to see right here. If you click through to Flickr, there are mouseover notes on this photo.
Downtown Center Harbor, New Hampshire, five minutes into my commute. The day had a black and white feel to it, so I went with it.
On the left, a cop’s giving a speeding ticket—unusual for this time of morning.
A school bus through a colleague’s classroom window. In a month or so, whole buses will be visible again.
My B Block French IV class. This is my third year in a row teaching this bunch.
The girl who looks dazed is named Meagan Graf. She’s a bit nervous, because in 11 hours, millions of Americans will be casting judgment on both her and the rest of her family.
While my 12th had only just begun, I was looking at Team Wibble’s from Australia, which had already been posted. Adelaide’s in a heat wave, I guess. Go figure.
Since our school network blocks FaceBook, I was looking at this on my BlackBerry—my latest indulgence.
After school, I had a Leadership Council meeting with the other department chairs and the administrators. I manned one of the computers as we talked about competencies, curriculum, and accreditation. (I actually enjoy this stuff.)
It was snowing when I left work, but fifteen minutes later the sun was out. I jumped out of the car in Meredith to get a snapshot of the spot where the WWFM will be held in May. There are still a few bobhouses on the ice, but there’s more open water than there had been.
Arriving home. Things have melted quite a bit on what we endearingly refer to as the luge (our driveway).
When I get home, the dogs go out. Gracie was a rescue dog from Tennessee. She loves us, but she has an urge to run. I think she misses the southern climate.
SquamDog’s only on a leash for convenience. Note that the bench has become visible after weeks of being buried.
Our little neck of the woods made big news with a local innkeeper family having been on ABC’s Wife Swap last night. That’s Meagan from picture number 4 on the screen. Here’s my take, now that it’s over: there’s a LOT of liberty taken with reality on reality TV.
Incidentally, if anyone watched it, Alex Graf seems to have forgotten she has a fourth child, a daughter named Chelsea, who’s in the air force. When she was in high school, she was a star in two of my plays.
Oh, and that’s T2’s cat Izellah on the floor.
Editing my twelve of twelve at the end of the day.
